RiDE (Rider Development Experience) is all about improving your cycling skills and stamina, whether you’re a beginner or advanced cyclist. The comprehensive 8-12 week program brings coaches and students together in a weekly training environment to help you go beyond your current abilities. From the new rider seeking to complete their fist metric century to the avid cyclist seeking to complete a 5-hour century, the RiDE program will fit anyone at any level. New Rider Clinics
New Rider Clinics are offered as an entry-level training program for the beginning cyclist. At these free clinics we teach important skills for safe riding on the road. We also teach some basic traffic law principles, bike maintenance, and bike handling. New for 2016 is the addition of a group riding skills clinic being held at the same time as the new rider clinic. If you already have the basic bike safety skills and want to learn more about riding in a group in a safe manner, then the group riding skills clinic is for you! The Wrench-It Series is offered free to members wanting to learn bike maintenance skills. The basic course covers everything from changing a flat to adjusting a derailleur. Advanced courses go into even more detail for those who want to make complicated repairs and adjustments. These free classes are regularly held at local bike shops and taught by their staff. They’re yet another benefit of being a CKC member.
New for 2016 is a course all about eating healthy to improve performance. This in-depth class will go feature nutrition strategies to help you achieve your goals. Whether it’s weight loss you’re after or building muscle and endurance, this class will have something for everyone. Look for more information and registration information soon!
